When choosing a plastic surgeon, patients are advised to research their surgeon on the CPSO website to see if the surgeon has any active patient complaints.
Before choosing a Plastic Surgeon, the patient should have the opportunity to meet with the surgeon and ask questions about the desired procedure and outcomes. Meeting with a marketing specialist or nurse cannot replace the experience and expertise of a surgeon’s opinion about the surgery. The information exchanged during a proper consultation allows the surgeon to better tailor surgical procedures to the individual patient. To achieve overall satisfaction with the surgical experience, a patient should choose a surgeon with whom the patient feels comfortable to discuss goals and expectations.
When choosing the best plastic surgeon, the patient should ask about follow up care. Post operative major surgical visits should be with the surgeon for the highest standard of patient care. Patients should ask about the clinic’s policy regarding follow up visits ensuring patient safety and satisfaction.
It is important to choose a plastic surgeon with hospital privileges in the region where they perform surgery. These credentials are necessary for a physician to admit their patient to hospital if there is any unexpected problem during or after surgery. Dr. Andrade is on staff at Southlake Hospital, where he is Chief of the Plastic Surgery Division.
