This patient in her early 50s had developed postpartum breast sagging and loose abdominal skin, which became worse after she lost 65 pounds, with her weight stabilizing around 135 pounds (BMI 21.8). She decided to have a drainless abdominoplasty without additional liposuction, as her problem was mainly loose skin but minimal subcutaneous fat. For the breasts she decided to have smooth round full profile silicone gel implants. On the right side a 365cc implant was inserted, and on the left side a 345cc implant was used. The abdominal scar was low so it could easily be hidden by undergarments or a bathing suit. The postoperative photos were taken at her 6 week appointment, so the scars could be expected to soften and fade for at least a year. Minor puckering at each end of the tummy tuck scar is common in the early healing process and almost always resolves. If not, it can be easily improved with a minor procedure done under local anesthetic. It is also important to be aware that it can take months for swelling to fully resolve. Nonetheless, she was very happy with the early postoperative result.
