Description
This 53 year old female wanted to have cosmetic abdominoplasty and liposuction of the flanks. She had postmenopausal weight gain that was resistant to her attempts at weight loss. She was 5’9” tall and weighed 190lbs. The patient underwent abdominoplasty and liposuction of the flanks, then approximately one year later she had a scar revision above the pubic area and additional liposuction of the abdomen. Note that there is still some prominence of the upper abdomen. It is not possible to remove fatty tissue deep within the abdomen around the organs, so the final result might not be as dramatic for a plus-sized woman. However, this patient was satisfied with the degree of improvement that was achieved.
