This 33 year old fulltime mother of 2 children came to the clinic stating that after pregnancy, she had significant skin laxity which did not improve over time despite her normal body weight and exercise. She was 5’2” tall and weighed 70kg. She received an outpatient drainless tummy tuck operation, which included tightening the abdominal muscles (rectus plication), plus an advanced wound closure technique with sequential tension sutures. These internal sutures close the space between the skin and the underlying muscles so there is less chance of a fluid collection, plus they reduce tension on the lower abdominal incision to provide favourable wound healing conditions. Post op the patient had a good contour and was happy with the result.
