How Much Does a Tummy Tuck Cost?
Sometimes it is difficult to compare different surgeon’s fees when you are not sure what is included in their posted rates online. Some surgeons offer a basic fee then add extra costs over a flat rate. “Extras” may include, anaesthesia, follow up visits, nursing care, post-op care items etc. At The York Plastic Surgery Centre, we are transparent with all of our procedures prices on our Financing Page. Our fees include all the above items as well as any binders, scar gel, and other postop care items. We do not have hidden fees.
The price of tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) surgery varies depending on the type of procedure required to best meet the patient’s goals. For example, if a patient is looking to reduce fat and tighten the skin in both upper and lower abdomen areas, then a full tummy tuck may be required. There are varying techniques for a full tummy tuck which include a standard abdominoplasty or a more involved Fleur-de-lys abdominoplasty. Moreover, if the patient has any underlying health concerns such as diabetes, sleep apnea, or heart conditions, the patient may require surgery in a hospital setting and/or need an overnight stay for the patient’s safety. This can further add to the cost.
For patients looking to remove a small amount of fat deposits and/or tighten skin below the belly button, then a mini tummy tuck may be sufficient. A mini tummy tuck is lower in price as it only focuses on one area of the abdomen.
The York Plastic Surgery Centre offers competitive prices relative to the high standards of care provided. Located in Newmarket, Ontario (off Hwy 404), we can keep prices lower as we do not pay high rent or property fees as compared to downtown Toronto clinics. Also, Dr. Andrade owns his own surgical centre which enables him to directly control both the quality standards and surgical fees at the clinic.
With that being said, beware of bargain pricing where fees seem too good to be true. For example, some out-of-country clinics do not hire board-certified anaesthesiologists to provide their anesthetics. Also, some travel tourism surgeons from abroad cut corners with surgery or do not offer post-op care, sending patients home soon after their surgeries. This leaves patients to fend for themselves if they have complications once they return home. It is important to do ample research when choosing a board-certified plastic surgeon. The College of Physicians and Surgeon’s (CPSO) website www.cpso.ca posts doctors’ names who have complaints or have been reprimanded for misconduct.
Dr. Andrade has earned a reputation for being among the best plastic surgeons in the area with a special focus on breast and body contouring surgeries. The experience and training of a surgeon is key to achieving good results.
