When choosing the best plastic surgeon to suit your needs, there are multiple considerations to bear in mind:
Is the surgeon board-certified?
Dr. Andrade is a fully qualified plastic surgeon. After medical school he completed his five-year specialist training in Plastic Surgery. He is in good standing with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Is the surgeon well-trained and skilled?
Dr. Andrade was fortunate to receive training from some of the top cosmetic breast and body contouring surgeons in downtown Toronto. The same skills and techniques are offered locally, which for many patients is more convenient and cost-effective. Dr. Andrade has performed hundreds of breast and body contouring operations. In addition, he attends yearly conferences and meetings to learn the latest plastic surgery techniques in augmentation mammoplasty, abdominoplasty, mastopexy, breast reconstruction, body contouring after massive weight loss, etc.
Is the surgeon competent?
The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario regulates all physicians in Ontario. Disciplinary proceedings are posted. Dr. Andrade is in good standing, with no disciplinary proceedings.
Does the surgeon have hospital privileges?
It is important to choose a plastic surgeon with hospital privileges in the region where they perform surgery. These credentials are necessary for a physician to admit their patient to hospital if there is any unexpected problem during or after surgery. Dr. Andrade is on staff at Southlake Hospital, where he was a previous Chief of the Plastic Surgery Division.
Is the surgical facility properly maintained and run?
Dr. Andrade’s facility is carefully maintained by respiratory therapists and medical technologists. It is staffed by fully trained Registered Nurses and Anaesthesiologists.
There are numerous regulatory bodies that govern Physicians and Surgeons in Canada including the Ontario Medical Association, the Canadian Medical Asscociation, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
