This patient had ear piercings that gradually elongated to the extent that the holes would no longer hold earrings. She had both earlobes repaired under local anesthetic. The procedure takes less than 30 minutes per earlobe. Sutures are removed one week later. Patients are advised to wait a few months before re-piercing the earlobes. Also, they should avoid piercing the exact same location because the scar is not as strong as the rest of the earlobe skin, and there is a higher risk of it stretching out and elongating again. The post-procedural photos were taken approximately 3 months later.
