This patient in her 30s was 5’5” tall, weighed 120 pounds and wore a 24A-B bra preoperatively. The left side was slightly smaller but the breasts had normal shape and skin tone. She wished a subtle increase in size, which some people describe this as a “ballerina breast augmentation” or “yoga boob job”. The implants were placed under the muscle because she was petite with small breasts, so inserting implants in a subpectoral plane provides a thicker layer of tissue coverage. This decreases the risk of visible or palpable implant rippling in the cleavage area. She chose a 240cc smooth round moderate profile silicone gel implant for the right side, and a 210cc implant for the left side. By choosing moderate profile rather than full profile implants, their base width was slightly wider, which helped fill in the gap between the breasts and creating natural-looking cleavage. She achieved a natural-appearing breast implant result that was proportionate to her petite body frame. The postoperative breast augmentation pictures were taken 1 year later.
