This 51yo woman from Uxbridge developed excess skin and fatty tissue after having two children and gaining weight. About 4 years prior to surgery she started running marathons and her weight dropped to 140lbs, but she still had significant excess skin and adipose tissue on the abdomen. Her drainless abdominoplasty was performed in the clinic and afterward she was followed closely at home with three nursing assessments. As seen in this photo taken one year postoperatively, the scar was faint and fine, and easily hidden under her pants (which are pulled lower for this picture). The minor raised skin puckers seen at each end of the scar (called “dog ears” or standing cones) were later removed. This brief procedure can usually be done under local anesthetic in the clinic. She was very happy to have a well-defined, contoured abdomen that matched her new healthy lifestyle.
